HDMA Honors Diana Winners at

 2005 Annual Leadership Forum

 

            HDMA presented 12 Distribution Industry Awards for Notable Achievements in Healthcare (DIANA) to leading healthcare manufacturers at the recent 2005 Annual Leadership Forum. Since 1959, DIANA has been awarded to pharmaceutical and consumer product manufacturers that set the standard of excellence in new product introductions and promotions on behalf of patient health. Winners also are recognized for efficient, flexible and innovative business practices that benefit HDMA member distributors and the healthcare supply chain.

            “DIANA winners have created exciting new products and services that improve patient outcomes, as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare supply chain” said HDMA president and CEO John M. Gray.  “These award winners serve as a model for leadership and innovation in the healthcare marketplace.”

The 2005 DIANA winners are:

            ■ Best New Consumer Product Introduction and/or Product Promotion, Home Health Care: Cara Incorporated for LCD Heating Pad with Select Heat.       

            ■ Best New Consumer Product Introduction and/or Product Promotion, General Merchandise/Health & Beauty Care: Schering-Plough Healthcare Products for Coppertone Continuous Spray.

            ■ Best New Consumer Product Introduction and/or Product Promotion, Over the Counter: Adams Respiratory Therapeutics for Mucinex DM.

            ■ Best New Pharmaceutical Product Introduction and/or Product Promotion, Generic Pharmaceuticals: Mylan Pharmaceuticals for Fentanyl Transdermal System CII.

            ■ Best New Pharmaceutical Product Introduction and/or Product Promotion, Branded Pharmaceuticals: ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for Xibrom.

            ■ Best Overall Consumer Products Manufacturer with Sales to HDMA Distributors Under $10 Million:

            The DIANA judging criteria cover elements of success in areas including category sales growth, promotional programs, market performance, bar code usage, EDI and general operational excellence. Manufacturers submitted entries for new product introductions and/or product promotions. Winners in the Best Overall Manufacturer Category were nominated by HDMA healthcare distributor members. All winners were chosen by a panel of judges composed of HDMA healthcare distributor members.
